I wrote that “Gulf of America” is only used by an authoritarian regime and “not widely used.”
optimisation is back on the menu boys
Now let’s fix GitHub’s glitchy-ass JavaScript on pull requests!
There are dozens all over GitHub. My “core” block list is HaGeZi Ultimate but there are several that block only Meta if that’s more your speed.
…and block all their domains! Just because you’re not on Facebook doesn’t mean Meta isn’t tracking you. See Pixel Hunt from The Markdown.
More generally turn off or limit cellular data on an app by app basis. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
When was the period reset? This always throws me off too because I forget you need to reset the counters manually.
I always thought it was so whatever company they contract with could show their brainwash ads
I already VPN 99% of my traffic out of the country and use non-US services wherever I can. When Trump was first elected I started wondering if they’re going to start a China-style firewall out of the country and it’s been in the back of my mind since.
It’s actually a pretty fantastic distribution and soothes my FreeBSD-based snobby notions of a clean, organized OS.
By far my favorite desktop-oriented Linux distro but damn do I wish it were available for arm64.
I see this too and it’s caused by the actual server not having a certificate belonging to the domain. It’s likely a configuration problem (and okay) but I don’t like to take chances.
If they offer a torrent, perhaps it’s better to use that for now.
Huh? I’m referring to the “job listings” feature of X, not looking for job opportunities at X.
I’m referring to looking for jobs using X, not looking for a job at X (which I thought was clear when quoting the article’s mention of “job listings”).
X has added some features, like job listings
Who the fuck looks for jobs on X?
And block all their domains/IP ranges too. People really need to understand how third party tracking works.
I do, unfortunately.
Agreed, but I’m not addressing TikTok specifically but rather policies similar to GDPR.
Yep, wish I’d known that a couple years ago.
Eh, out of all my own traffic I’ve MITM’d it’s mostly been third-party SDKs in apps doing creepy shit.
Down to hate on Gulf of America but when it comes to privacy it’s debatable.
