I can’t set a reminder.
I said “Hey Google, set a reminder to feed the dog at 9am tomorrow” and it seems to work fine?

The one in my hand with a silicon case feels fine. Camera bump is only obnoxiously noticeable when it’s naked.
Wow, I must have just snuck my install in…
Presumably this removal was accidental right?
I was talking about something mainstream from oneplus, realme, etc.
Aye, no true Chinese phone maker would be a piece of crap
What’s the hype going to be about? All phones are just black rectangular prisms now. The camera will be a little better, the battery life a little better, the processor slightly faster… But there’s no huge leap in functionality and form factors aren’t taking risks any more.
It’s previous phone release + .1
Chinese manufacturers always look amazing on paper, but are terrible in reality.
Huge batteries that die faster than a Pixel with half the capacity, cameras with infinity megapixels that just end up taking huge terrible photos, software updates lololol, usually the tackiest theme overlaid so you get blue highlights on buttons with green backgrounds…
I’ve had way too many pieces of crap Xiaomi and Doogee and Ulefones over the years to ever go back after having a couple of Pixels.
Please drink verification can
No thank you Google
Doesn’t seem to stop a lot of drivers
Why do Shorts (and Reels, and Stories, and whatever other catchy names they give short form videos) even exist?
So, for me, 90 percent of the time this function would be firmly set to “off”.
I bought a car that has heated seats and a heated steering wheel that I’ve never used, and being in Australia will probably never use. It did not detract from the rest of the cars functionality including its main purpose which is to get me from A to B.
I suspect the optional functionality of this hardware button will be similar.
It’s a tag, that works well as a tag.
Also, you can use it as a remote shutter should you wish to place your phone somewhere and take the photo from somewhere else - like standing in front of a famous landmark, or wanting to be in a group photo instead of being behind the camera.
Seems like a no brainer bit of useful add-on functionality to supplement its primary usage.
I had that phone, and I loved it. I’ve probably still got it in the cupboard somewhere, along with the original Note.
The mix of physical buttons and touch screen is something I really miss.

I’m somewhere between steps 2 and 3 myself after around 2500 hours or so of gameplay.
But where do I go instead for my aquarium hobbyist videos? 😥
Just realised I’ve probably bought that app at some point - no idea what it costs since Google doesn’t show that information once you own it.
There’s a free version which likely has done restrictions but probably still does exactly what you require:

I’ve been using Image Shrink on Android for the better part of a decade. It works flawlessly for exactly this situation.
I set the resize options to maximum dimension of 1600px.
Then the workflow is share from any app (like the Gallery) to Image Shrink, it resizes the photo(s), then reopens the share prompt to share on to wherever you’re trying to send them (like an email client).
You can also choose Image Shrink in the file picker to do it in reverse - select the files in the app you want, and they get resized on the way in.
Security through antiquity
I’m the opposite… I rarely reply when I’m on my phone because swiping and tapping away at the touchscreen keyboard is so slow and inaccurate. I spend more time correcting swypos than I do writing I think.
Meanwhile on the desktop I can punch out a shining example of wit (or at least a spoonerism of that) at 100+ wpm at 100% accuracy.
Sent from my phone, slowly.
