The stock default launchers tend to suck for one reason for another. Icons taking up a lot more screen space than needed is a major one for me.
Being able to adjust grid size is a great advantage to custom launchers.

One more step towards the great firewall.
Get to know my neighbors? C’mon dude no way.

I’ve been using Lightning Launcher for over a decade now.
It’s no longer on play store, but a version is available at https://github.com/TrianguloY/LightningLauncher
Lots of customization options.

Taco bell is one the the few fast food joints that still has decent cheap options.
They have a $7 luxe box ( if you use the app you can customize it.) That actually gives a worthwhile amount of food.
And as far as I can tell it’s an all the time deal, not some shitty limited time promotion like mcshit offers trying to get people to come bsck to their overpriced garbage. ($6+ just for fucking “large” french fries)

I mean its kinda true. The biggest draw to custom roms back in the day was adding features that either weren’t available at all or only on limited devices.
Even before google started locking shit down tight custom roms were dying because they had less and less to differentiate themselves from both each other and official android.
Now of course we’ve basically come full circle. We are losing wanted/needed features for “security” but shits so locked down custom roms can’t provide us with those features. :(

If it’s not completely locked down I could see a decent modding community growing for it and keeping it alive.
The amount of times the shit breaks down combined with the slower speeds means it doesn’t really matter if they work 24/7 right now.
Yes, robots are coming, but amazon has been acting like they will be here tomorrow since it’s inception.
The reality is robots that cost less than people that at least do comparable work in the same time frame is still a decade or 2 away optimistically.
Amazon trying to force it doesn’t change that.
Amazon is to robots what meta is to vr. Dumping tons of money trying to force the ‘future’ today.
It’s such a joke. Amazon is so desperate for automation, but is too stupidly arrogant to realize the tech really isn’t there yet.
I work at a amazon facility with robots and management does everything in their power to keep me away from them because I can outwork the bots without breaking a sweat.
Too greedy. They want all the money so bad they will believe any conman.

Just like I never called french fries freedom fries, I will never call the gulf of mexico the gulf of america

A lot (if not most) of vr games can be played seated though.
Sure you might technically still be moving around but it’s easy enough on you that most people - even grandma, could play.
So I don’t see that as a barrier to mainstream.

Any disposable I’ve bought that doesnt have a recharge port the battery was dead with at least 20% ejuice remaining.
Oversized designs is definitely a big one, but don’t forget subpar training and verification of said training (take a driving test once and your set for life) and of course just overall poor design.
I’ve got a Lincoln mkx and it can be almost impossible to even see out of the windshield on sunny days due to the angle of the windshield catching massive reflections of the dash (like how the hell did that make it past testing)
