AMD and Intel have almost the same performance on Linux. NVIDIA has not though. I had something 10-15% less fps with my RTX 3070, even with a gaming distro, latest NVIDIA drivers running and proton-GE.

lastSeptember 2023, and the companies decided to cut production so the prices go up again. It worked, today SSD drives are more expensive than last year. I bet they did something similar to the HDD, but it’s only hypothetical.

I tried it a few months ago and it is like a mobile app for idiots. It lacks many settings and many things. It is like windows 11, you need to do extra steps for stuff and settings you want. Also if you have only a standalone office and not a Office365 subscription they have ads, like their mobile app. Fucking Microsoft.
Oh SHIT. I had a feeling since months, as an end-user, that something wasn’t going well. But damn, i did not know that was that bad.

I don’t mind if it is a bit slower but part of my device.
nuko147@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•New survey suggests the vast majority of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy users find AI useless – and I’m not surprisedEnglish3·24 days agoWhy it must connect to a server to do it? Why can not offline? Deepseek showed us that it is possible. The companies want everyone to think that AI only works online. For example AI image enhancements in my mid range Samsung phone work offline.

nuko147@lemm.eeto Technology@lemmy.world•New survey suggests the vast majority of iPhone and Samsung Galaxy users find AI useless – and I’m not surprisedEnglish59·29 days agoThis is what happens when companies prioritize hype over privacy and try to monetize every innovation. Why pay €1,500 for a phone only to have basic AI features? AI should solve real problems, not be a cash grab.
Imagine if AI actually worked for users:
- Show me all settings to block data sharing and maximize privacy.
- Explain how you optimized my battery last week and how much time it saved.
- Automatically silence spam calls without selling my data to third parties.
- Detect and block apps that secretly drain data or access my microphone.
- Automatically organize my photos by topic without uploading them to the cloud.
- Make everything i could do with TASKER with only just saying it in plain words.
My PC having hibernation off in windows and system power off in S5 from bios.
A bad move. But again i hate that many distros have a default browser and they don’t let you choose.
