“it can be blamed on personal responsibility” so, this equals to “magic box says you are a bad person”, at which point the magic box could just be a single “are we in business relationship with this person, yes or no?” decision. This was my point. You don’t need complicated machinery if you know what results you want out of it.

In the past the magic box was called God, or nation or clan, now it is called AI. There’s always a puppeteer behind the box, so why bother actually wasting resources on the internals of the box.

At this point, why do they care about predicting crime? Can’t they just say “everyone is guilty, unless they are friends in business relationship with us.”

Making money hasn’t been the goal for some time. Fascists have realized that the planet won’t be able to sustain more than ~1billion people, very soon. They are hogging resources, land, water, etc through datacenters and other means to become the judge of who lives and who dies. And they will decide based on “eugenical” (aka racist, ableist, other-ist) factors for the plebs, and of course every CEO and investor wants to be on the panel instead of being judged by the panel. That’s why the seemingly panicky decisions.

It’s on us to get to 1billion through more peaceful, controlled, multi-generational ways for the common people, and starting by punishing fascist behavior with the necessary consequences.

The answer is not letting any company grow into a monopoly. There are actual laws against that. Break up existing monopolies. Then make business owners way more accountable than they are today. I know it is hard to prove intent in fraud cases, but any sort of creative accounting, transfer of debt between companies, bonuses that aren’t in alignment with company performance, stock buybacks and other manipulations of valuation, and a myriad other obvious fraudulent behaviors should be punished with long prison time.

Productivity is a collective achievement. AI in its current form increases individual output (not necessarily good output) without any way to support consensus, alignment, understanding, etc. Without AI supported collaboration, AI supported individual productivity makes everything go very fast in every direction. Like an explosion.

It is beyond capitalism now, it is corporatism turning into neo-feudalism. Some may argue that capitalism inevitably has to follow this path. I am not sure about that, but unregulated capitalism combined with large scale centralized representative democracy probably does.
