Our HTC Vive (yeah, it’s not made by Valve, but it’s the Original SteamVR Headset and is kinda close enough) has a color passthrough camera. It’s really low res and useless for fancy AR but it’s great if you need to look around for a sec.

1·2 days agoKDE4, funnily enough, implemented it as “entirely separate set of widgets per virtual desktop”. Which would also be nifty, but I can understand why it might be hard to do.
(The desktop wallpaper? That’s a widget, of a sort. It goes in ~/.config/plasma-org.kde.appletsrc along with your panels and widgets.)

6·2 days agoMan, it’s so weird to think about misogynistic/degrading/abusive porn existing. I’m used to furry porn which, generally, is much more positive “yay let’s do [insert rule 34 of literally anything you could possibly think of] and have a great time!” type stuff.

Yeah, Pipewire is pretty great IMO.
People love to go “you hate on Systemd/Wayland? you just HATE PROGRESS!!”, but like, no, new stuff itself isn’t the problem and this proves that. Pipewire doesn’t seem to be all that controversial, I don’t really see anyone hating on it, or people going “YOU HAVE TO ACCEPT IT!!!”.
