  • Gemini 2.5 used to be solid. It still would fuck up sometimes, but its ability to remember small details throughout a long conversation and weave them in as relevant was phenomenal. It felt conversationally good to use it for that reason, at least for bouncing ideas off of and getting perspectives I didn’t consider myself.

Every model of it since has been like talking to a compulsive liar that also has dementia. Like someone you can largely trust to go cook some eggs, but tell them to go grab a complex recipe I asked for last week and make it again, and they’ll confidently say they’ve never seen that recipe before or made it in their life. I guess lobotomizing your product compared to your competitors all in the name of saving on cost seemed like a good idea to someone at Google

  • To note, I’m not on lineage, but I set Tasker up to display little dots depending on the notification. Orange for a notification, blue for a reminder, and red/yellow/green for 15% battery, 30% battery, and 100% battery, respectively. I have the dots also combine when several of these notification types are present at once.

You can see them in this screenshot. I currently have reminders and notifications. They look like big blobs on the screen, but I actually have a hole punch camera, so it actually creates a ring around that in reality.

  • I used it. And I used Edge. This is the most braindead change they could have made. Edge automatically synced passwords to Authenticator across mobile and PC. Losing the ability to autofill passwords outside of Edge makes it significantly less useful.

If anything, as someone who was in their garden, this change is unironically making me want to go find another garden to play in instead of stick closer to theirs. Why is Microsoft so hellebent on making people hate it’s software recently?
