Four Thieves are legit. Controversial but they’re confronting a lot of uncomfortable truths that need to be addressed .
Because you’re making stuff up. Literally every install of an OS has some little issue here and there-- but this is my mistake for assuming any Linux community could be humble enough to cut the BS and stop acting like Linux is a flawless experience. I’m out, keep hanging out at that ~5% market cap and wondering why folks don’t flock over despite it being free.
I don’t believe it works “flawlessly” and I’m tired of people exaggerating their experience in such a misleading way. There’s always some hitches and I don’t get why people basically have to cake their OS experience with makeup like this.
That implies law enforcement will investigate right wing extremists, which they often don’t because they’re a part of that whole thing. Loads of LEOs give their buddies insider info to avoid being flagged.
Just buy a white car AND use a visor, what’s wrong with that?
Nothing’s wrong with that-- why would I assume you’re talking about regular paint when this whole article is specifically about a single type of new paint developed to keep cars cool in heat?
You seem to care a lot.
I think you’re confusing my care for the issue as me caring for you. It’s too bad you can’t even be bothered to make some of your comment relevant to the discussion.
That’s okay, you seem pretty simpleminded so I don’t exactly expect you to understand the issue. I understand the anti-car sentiment but you’ve clearly gone off the deep end yet you still seem to think it matters to other people whether you care about issues like this.
What’s the cost (financial and environmental) of repainting a car vs using a windshield visor that’s at least twice as effective at reducing heat? Painting a car with this stuff would cost thousands of dollars compare to $20 for a visor.
You realize the emissions saved from reduced AC usage would also reduce the heat island effect, right? Sun visors like this are good for public spaces.
Also, it’s more environmentally friendly to have people use visors than repaint their whole car.
Windshield screens are the low-tech but far more effective method of keeping a car’s interior cooler, typically by at least 20F when it’s really hot out. Slightly inconvenient but unlike this paint, a windshield screen will actually make a difference.
Big media = big reach, compromises made. Fediverse = tiny reach, fewer compromises made. I can see why Indigenous folks choose the former over the latter.
8 TB but I’m just a regular Joe with a penchant for piracy.
Ya know, you may have just helped me finally make the full switch. Thank you
I’ve been too critical of them in the early days and will admit that many of the issues that plagued their VPN service years ago have now been fixed.
Super accurate comment.
My experience with Win10 for what I use my computer for has been far less janky than any Linux distro I’ve tried, and I’m past the stage of my life where I could spend hours and hours troubleshooting and enjoying it.
As for Win11… I may very well made the dreaded switch to Linux when Win10 officially loses updates. I just wish Linux had viable alternatives to a lot of Windows software that wouldn’t result in my workflow being significantly altered in a way that will require watching countless god awful tutorial videos and going through forum nonsense.
Like for sure Windows has its problems but we shouldn’t pretend Linux and the community don’t do a lot of things that massively turn off new users.
Want regular ass people to switch from Windows to something new? Check out how/why Mac OS is so popular among those who’ve switched from Windows, and perhaps there’s some things of value there that the Linux community can learn from.
The Linux community is packed with toxicity and a stubborn insistence that it’s nothing but helpful and if a user has a problem, it’s always their fault and never the distro’s fault.
Laptop shows your unlocked screen briefly when you open it before unlocking? Never had that issue with Windows, Macs, but on Linux this happens with Ubuntu when installed on several Thinkpad models.
And nearly every response to this problem on Linux forums is "you must be doing something wrong" or casually telling a new user 'just switch to DingOS 3.14 bro, it’s what I use and I’ve never had an issue" like that’s NOT a major pain in the ass for the average user.
Describing Reddit as altruistic is some next level delusion.
I have all kinds of cable extensions specifically to reduce my reliance on BT. Wired bedside headphones and keyboard are the best
