Lemmy really has a piss poor reading comprehension.

There are jurisdictions where Steam has to explicitly ask every time you open an age-gated page, that’s why they do it and haven’t stored it before. That’ll presumably not change.

DW isn’t the equivalent of the BBC. It’s more of a equivalent to e.g. Radio Free Europe. DW is entirely funded by the German government, in contrast to the BBC or ARD/ZDF which are independently funded. I’m not saying DW is bad, but it isn’t the equivalent of the BBC.
That’s from an IBM Power 720. Really nice system. It uses the POWER 7 architecture which has a lot of nice features including LPARs (logical partitions) (basically virtualisation without any performance penalty). It’s from 2010 so it’s quite a bit newer than the G5.
I’m using PPC64, which isn’t even an officially supported architecture anymore, so it’s always good reminding the Debian team that we exists.

Autocompletions in fish also take history into account, which saves you a lot of typing in the long run.
Fish shell script is much more sensibly constructed than bash so it’s just much easier to write a script in fish.
I would really recommend you try fish.
It has a lot of nice autocomplete features and handles functions much better than bash. It has a very sensible autoconfig so you can just install and try it.
Zsh can be configured in quite a lot of ways. It’s default config is quite similar to bash.

Comrade Xi, save my people from capitalist oppression!

No, DisplayPort, DVI-D and HDMI use fundamentally the same protocol, HDMI just adds DRM which requires active adapters when one plugs in a HDMI source into a DisplayPort sink. DisplayPort to HDMI conversions are completely lossless and don’t add latency AFAIK.

DisplayPort to HDMI adapters are quite cheap and don’t add latency.

Hehe hehe hehe. Yeah no, you overestimate German state governments

Vim is bloatware atop Ed making it insanely memory hungry and nearly unusable.

Ed is the standard and only option.

From the moment I understood the weakness of my flesh, it disgusted me. I craved the strength and certainty of steel. I aspired to the purity of the Blessed Machine. Your kind cling to your flesh, as though it will not decay and fail you. One day the crude biomass you call a temple will wither, and you will beg my kind to save you. But I am already saved, for the Machine is immortal… Even in death I serve the Omnissiah.

There was a github thread about this when it came up for CSAM, they managed to easily circumvent it. I’m rather confident this will end up similarly

Becaue hashes are known to work great with images 🤦♂️
Android is a Linux derivative, the Kernel is still licensed under GPLv2.
