I’ve recently been playing Remnant 2, Songs of Syx, Age of Darkness, dotAGE, Helldivers, Valheim, Against the Storm… all really impressive and amazing games made by (relatively) small studios or AA developers with a passion for games. If you’re completely new to the indie scene you probably can’t go wrong with Hades, Hollow Knight, Stardew Valley, Terraria

Abandon AAA, buy more indie or AA games and you’ll find what you want

I remember being confused by the ending but tbh never to the extent it ruined the rest of the franchise retroactively. Not even Andromeda managed to so that! I still have fond memories of ME and I’m constantly tempted to replay it with the legendary edition, if only I had the time.

Even as someone that’s still active here, this would never happen. Neither lemmy or Kbin were ready to replace reddit in either features, stability or support, not then and not even today. It’s unfortunate but reddit is not going to go down when there is no actual competition available.

Wasn’t that more for games like wizardry or the more modern example, legend of grimrock? It sounds more related to what a dnd party would do than just fighting hordes of enemies.

I often can’t tell if they are just saying stuff like that to cope or they are really that optimistic/naive. It’s a similar mentality to people constantly giving benefit of the doubt to kickstarter / early access projects that have like a 1% chance of actually living up to the made promises.

Any chance someone can ELI5 this for me? I’ve been trying to game on Linux and I’m frustrated / confused enough with wine / lutris / proton an debugging their weird setups and interactions as it is.

I’ve been using logseq for a few months now, can you go into more detail why you switched to Joplin? You can also just stick to pages rather than the journal with logseq (it’s mostly what I’ve been doing) so I’m not sure from just that comment what’s the benefit of Joplin.

From your perspective it is not a Linux problem. From the perspective of the user who sees all those “Linux is as good for gaming as windows nowadays!” posts and expects his OS to just work, it is a Linux issue that would be resolved by not using Linux.

Besides, I know nobody gives a shit what we write here in the fediverse but generally speaking you get the change to happen by making enough noise about it. If nobody talks that the dev x doesn’t support the linux build, whether its because of EAC or something else, then nothing will ever change about it so stifling these discussions is not good for anyone.

That’s not “dumb” tho, that’s how you don’t end up with an echochamber. Windows communities should discuss the shortcomings of windows, but also linux communities should accept and/or help resolve issues with linux. If the point of this community is to just praise linux and say nothing bad about it then what’s even the point of it, it’s just going to give a false impression to anyone thinking of switching over.

Oh yeah I played both before and after hots 2.0, I just don’t want battle passes and overpriced skins. I always thought the gold, gem and shard prices were pretty fair and accessible in hots, which made me actually spend money on it more than any other game at the time… but apparently it wasn’t designed in a way to draw the whales in so it didn’t make as much money off them.
