I think this is going to be my main.
Has accounts on lemmy.zip, lemmy.world, fedia.io and kbin.earth with the same handle

it’s why I said no to a discord server that I am chronically online in. I don’t remember what was the active user count back then, probably just 100. the admins offered a mod position because I’m a good boi. I know I’ll get angry at the slightest thing. but i always managed to stop kyself from posting angrily off the cuff. I am not fit to moderate strangers, even if their familiar strangers. dunno how I’d do with a smidgen of power.
I couldn’t imagine the stress of moderating even larger network
I mean if you’re someone new and then inundated with terrible news every day because you’re still getting the hang of moderating your feed by yourself, you’re bound to carry negative attitude everywhere else.
reddit can, have been, and will continue to be angry right leaning, and here it’s the opposite. I get it, there are matters worth being angry about. but surrounding yourself with it just makes it pointless
Nothing isn’t that much better. Their latest Nothing 3A phones have a dedicated AI button and no alert slider
watch one or two videos that are from a popular genre
This is why if I’m on desktop, I either open in a private window, or immediately delete the video from my YouTube history. Or if I’m on my phone, I open it on newpipe.
It’s when I ignore those suggestions that’s honestly are in line with what I’m currently obsessed with is when YouTube started showing me videos I’ve already watched
O don’t use an e-reader, but I remember the stress their migration process gave me. That’s when I found omnivore. Unfortunately for me that was 3 months before they have to shut down lol. Now I’m back at Instapaper. Shouldn’t have left it for pocket way back then.
I mean after Valve released the Steam Deck, Asus, Lenovo, MSI–to name just a few–followed suit with at least an iteration. Asus has the Ally and Ally X, Lenovo now have 3 models, and MSI only has 1.
I can’t recall if there are any other big brands handheld PCs, but there’s definitely Chinese ones.
Agreed. But I’m glad it’s native to desktop Firefox now. Grouping tabs in desktop works for me to hide the hundreds of tabs I keep to tens of groups 🤪
It definitely is still Winging. But I keep delaying to fix the the broken USB C and now I only charge using wireless. It also needs a battery replacement and each day I delay pretty sure it gets harder to get genuine parts.
It has fell a few tines with it open and I’m surprised that it’s still working.
Will miss the bad boy when the time comes. While unconventional, it convinces me that I want a dual screen / foldable phone / “small phone that can go big phone in one device”. Just that those are too expensive to justify.
To LG’s credit, if you have the correct version of phones, they did support and update them as per their schedule. My Korean version LG Wing is now on the last version it’ll ever get, Android 13. That was I think 2023.
Now if anything happens to my Wing, I guess it’ll be a relic and e-waste.
Such a shame that LG decided to exit the smartphone market all those years ago.
What I wish is more viable is the Huawei Pura SomeNumbers. It’s passport sized when closed, with a usable portrait-ish small outer screen to fit besides two cameras. Opens like a book into a landscape orientation, to a 16:10 ratio screen. A dream device.
Too bad it’s locked in China. Technically.
Xiaomi and Poco phones are champions of bang for buck most of the time. But always at the cost of whatever data collection and ads.
It’s made worse that Xiaomi have been clamping down on unlocking the bootloader with more and more hoops.
Agreed. At least there are efforts to salvage it.
Everyone should look up what a shemagh is, and all multitude of uses it has. Pretty sure there are plenty of colors that aren’t tacticool, which is inevitable when you search for it. If it works for the grunts the US sent to the Middle East, and actual Middle Eastern cultures, it’ll work for you. Hitchhikers’ Guide to the Galaxy describes how useful it is to carry a towel across the galaxy; this is it.
Edit: something more that I recalled of when I was in the prepper phase years ago: Marines swear on this thing called a woobie. It’s their safety blanket, figuratively and practically. It’s basically a quilted fabric liner under a poncho for insulation. Works just as well as blankets if you’re going to be crashing somewhere overnight.
