  • Eh.

After years and years of Chrome I just up and switched on Friday when they finally pulled the plug.

No regrets. No waving from the stern of the ship as I sail away from Chromeland.

If they choose to take away a valuable tool I consider necessary for browsing the web, then I have no loyalty to them and can easily move on. Took all of 10 seconds to import my shit into Firefox and be on my way.

Bye, Chrome. Thanks for being useful, until you weren’t.

    Nazi platform.

Make sure to stop clicking on Nazi links when people post them. No matter how bad you want to see someone “prank” someone or cry about their perceived persecution.

We need to stop making a Nazi platform important enough that it hurts democratic politicians when they lose access because of the Nazi in charge of said platform.

  • I mean, I could make tacos at home. Or I could pay a bit more to go pick them up somewhere. I could change my own oil, or I could have someone else do it.

I could spend time downloading all this data and uploading it to a hard drive I purchase. I know how to do it all. But for the price they’re charging for the drive AND Raspberry Pi and the service of gathering and uploading the data, it’s not that bad of a deal. Especially if you work a full time job and want to use your free time to not do a chore like this. I mean I’m pretty sure there’s torrents for Wikipedia. Not so sure about WikiHow.

If the price was higher I’d be complaining. It’s pretty reasonable. It’s a peace of mind thing without hassle for anyone with even a little extra cash lying around.
