Linux@lemmy.ml•I swapped the entire school computers to linux mint
1·10 days agoI was confused when they said programming school and out of like 20 kids no one knew to use wine or bothered to search anything up.
I think so at least. That’s why they say hackingtosh is gonna die. At least as far as my understanding goes cuz they will stop supporting intel or already stopped this update or something like that. Devs will obviously stop supporting x86 too.
If it was just intel and they used x86 people with intel could still run a lot of apps just not the ones that require like new features.
Maybe, probs, I did not think of that ig. But I do feel that would be like posting something about wine in a windows group, it does not affect mac users of course the size of the community and proyect might change some stuff maybe. Or maybe it’s also because of the kind of question. idk
like wine but for mac instead of windows. https://www.darlinghq.org/

Linux@lemmy.ml•I am building a file transfer app purpose built for Linux and Android
1·11 days agomy pc has no bluetooth
(for me)
I can run most software. There is some stuff, some I could even just fix with winetricks.
It can be a bit buggy but perfectably usable. Worse I’ve seen is some crashes, small errors with gui and lag, discord was unusable for no reason. Anyways most stuff runs fine.

Linux@lemmy.ml•What is the one app you would like made for the COSMIC Desktop?
1·17 days agoI don’t think the desktop enviroment affects compatibility at all, I’m very sure it’s mostly just integration and it looking pretty. except stuff that’s part of the DE. Also, sorry for answering to a week old comment i didn’t check until now that I’m editing.

Technology@lemmy.world•60% of TikTok videos are AI slop; 21% of YouTube onesEnglish
2·20 days agoI mean if you go to obscuretube or whatevs most vids are juat people doing random atuff so slightly surprising too. Guess most videos are actuallt just hidden tho… wonder how many are private.
Also shorts probably make up almost all of the “ai slop”.
Even considering that it doesn’t really stop being surprising I guess.

wait till some trillionare puts microchips in a bunch of people’s brains.
