    Welcome to the age where you own nothing! If it’s digital and not accessible offline, on your own device, you can lose it on a company’s whim. This is one of the major arguments for piracy: it’s often the only way you can “own” digital content.

      So here is the FTFY:
      If it’s digital and not accessible offline, on your own device… and can’t be played anywhere without the accompanying software (music streaming and youtube for example) … you can lose it on a company’s whim.

      TLDR: If it ain’t an MKV/MP4/AV1/FLAC/MP3, it aint real.
