Skeptics of the proposed hyperscale data center in Box Elder County are sweating about a lot more than its energy demands and potential toll on water supplies.
Everyone went desperate. It’s the only thing keeping the economy up and keeps USA just ahead of competitors. It this gambit fails, and it looks like it will, USA will become like the UK i.e. a remnant of what once was a global empire, still a player but not the top dog anymore.
Tbh, I think we’re going the Russia route. I wish we could have as graceful a transition out of being a superpower as the UK (I’m not calling theirs objectively graceful, just less erratic and batshit).
